Project: Texas St Interchange

Scope of Work:

This project consisted of reconstructing Canal Street, Claiborne Street, Texas Street Interchange, Conception Street, and the closure of the Water Street on-ramp to the Wallace Tunnel on I-10.

The reconstruction included grading, drainage, base repair, paving, and updating stripe and signage.

The Water Street on-ramp in downtown Mobile, Al is a consistently dangerous highly trafficked ramp. ALDOT engineers drafted a proposal to close the on-ramp and re-route traffic to the Texas St interchange where motorists would enter I-10.

This project was highly visible and was logistically difficult to phase traffic during each section of construction.  The MCC team worked with ALDOT engineers and our subcontractors to provide the least amount of interruption to the the traveling public.
